To close out celebrating 25 years dj’ing and most likely alienating most listeners, Jess goes back to his roots of where it all began as Transit. Before Hard Style, there was Hard NRG, Freeform, and Hard Trance. Influenced by 90s warehouse raves, this high energy set represents the genres Jess first learned to play. Many have not heard these styles before and may not be for everyone, but art is art. This goes out to that "one fan" that will probably blow their mind. If you happened to like this mix, check out "Alive!" that was produced in 2002. Happy New Year and thank you all for supporting my art over the years! 🖤 ~Jess Van Ness

25 years ago, I first laid my hands on some Technic 1200s and became addicted! To celebrate this huge milestone, I decided to produce some sets that made me fall in love with the scene in the first place. After going through over 7,500 tracks from the 90’s and early 2000’s, I came up with the White Doves and Green Triangles Mixes. I wanted it to represent what was happening in Los Angeles trance scene, my hometown. Full of hidden gems, forgotten treasures, lessor known mixes, and a couple of my favorite tracks from that era, I wanted to create something authentic in every way. The White Doves mix is more of a pre-midnight mix where the Green Triangles mix is more full on rave, but structured to listen to one after the other. If you were an raver in Los Angeles during the 90s, I hope it’s nostalgic and brings back “that feeling.” X and doses…

Welcome to the lost files of Jess Van Ness. Moods for the Moody was actually the first draft of “The Last Breathe” originally recorded in 2020, but the impact of George Floyd changed the course of this release. Devastated, Jess changed almost the entire project based on what he was feeling at the time as a tribute to those that tragically lost their lives at the hands of those that are supposed to be protectors. This recording was filed away and almost forgotten. Unfortunately, the set list has also been lost. About Moods for the Moody, it’s a collage of deep dark twisting tracks ranging from progressive, minimal techno, afro, and melodic techno with elements of haunting vocals.

Dance of the Butterfly is a super vibey mix that takes you through a journey of Organic, Afro, and Progressive moods. 20 Years ago I released Missing M, a twisted love story of loss, euphoria and joy. Recorded in Huntington Beach under my alias Transit, this trance based set has had a special place in my heart beyond the nostalgia, especially the first 20 minutes. Recorded on vinyl, notice tracks 2 and 3 constantly overlapping to smooth the blend. While it's not perfect, was a good gauge where I was technically. Hope you enjoy!
